Colorado San Luis Valley: Units 82/68/681
Palmer Outfitters
Colorado License #1714

Here we offer hunters guided, high country pack-in hunts for elk and mule deer. Antelope hunts take place on private ranch lands and some public land in the north end of the San Luis Valley. The San Luis Valley and surrounding mountains is really neat place to hunt as often you can see elk, antelope and deer all in the same day. Elk numbers have increased in recent years with many elk summering right in the valley and we have expanded hunting opportunities for late season and cow elk hunts through December. Antelope are plentiful down in the valley as the alfalfa farms keep them around as well as lots of mule deer.

Self guided drive to (4WD) drop camps are also offered in the National Forest. These camps are set up in areas with minimal traffic and are a great choice for hunters who have lots of gear and are comfortable hunting on their own. We will have a complete camp ready to go, and we will show you on maps and with GPS places where we historically see elk. From there you are on your own. A four wheel drive vehicle is necessary to hunt these camps, but once there you can hunt out on foot or make short drives.

We also have available a beautiful log cabin situated on 80 acres of land surrounded by National Forest. This cabin is leased as an unguided drop camp with a maximum of 5-6 hunters. You can hunt right out the door or make short drives to other trailheads. The cabin is modern, fully equipped with propane appliances, hot water shower, indoor bathroom etc. and it sures beats a tent camp!

Average Costs: Guided elk and deer hunts will have an average cost of $2950 for rifle hunts and $2750 for archery. Self guided drive up drop camps are $1250 and guided late season cow elk hunts are $1500. Antelope hunts are guided at $2000. All prices are per person and subject to change.

Northwest Colorado Units 12 and 3
4 + 2 T Ranch
Colorado License #868

Here we offer private land hunting in northwest Colorado. The high country ranch is located in the mountains approximately 25 miles southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The ranch is reached via access controlled 4WD road, and is surrounded on three sides by the Routt National Forest. Hunters enjoy comfortable accommodations in a modern mountain lodge located in some of the best game country in Colorado. The lodge is fully equipped with propane appliances, hot water, showers and flush toilets. You will find excellent elk hunting with a large resident herd and plenty of migrating animals during late season hunts. Physically this is a somewhat "easier" hunt than some of our other pack-in wilderness hunts. All archery, muzzleloader and the first three rifle hunts are run from this lodge.

For the 4th rifle hunt (elk only) we operates from the home cabin in Hayden and hunt an 8000 acre ranch north of town. This ranch is high country desert, making this a fun hunt for all ages with easy accessibility and great spot and stalk hunting. Expect to see plenty of elk here. It's not unusual to see several hundred animals each day and maybe more, especially if the mountains get heavy snow and the elk move to the low country. We offer late season cow elk hunts here with 100% shooting success.

We also offers a superb summer program at the high country ranch. Here you'll enjoy horseback riding, fishing, site seeing and big game photography. The lodge is comfortable and peaceful!

Average costs: Guided hunts only with an average cost of $3600 subject to change.

British Columbia Tatla Lake Region
Niut Trails Outfitting
British Columbia License #GO 109 099

We have hunting camps on approximately 400 square miles of territory in the Tatlayoko Valley and Chilcotin Plateau region of British Columbia. Here you have a chance to experience some of the last remaining true wilderness in North America. Hunts are available for Rocky Mountain Goat, Moose, Black Bear, Wolf, Mule Deer, and Cougar. British Columbia offers overall excellent hunting, guaranteed licenses and reasonable costs for a multi-species hunt. Most hunting is done by spot and stalk making for a great trip, lots of game, and exciting stalks.

Mountain goats are best hunted in September and early October. The best time for moose is during the rut in late September and the first two weeks of October. Mule deer are seen through the fall months, but of course the November rut is the best time for spotting big bucks. Spring bear hunts are highly successful and bear can be added to all fall hunts. Bear hunting is by spot and stalk only. All hunts are completely full each year so if you want to hunt in 2007 please contact us soon.

Average costs: Guided hunts only at $4200 for moose, $6400 for mountain goat, bear hunts are $3600 and deer hunts are $3600 subject to taxes and change. Combo hunts are available at additional cost.

Montana Lodge Hunt for Mule Deer
Burnt Out Lodge

Enjoy mule deer hunting on this 6000 acre ranch located near Big Timber, Montana in the southwest part of the state. The ranch has a variety of terrain from the cottonwoods along the creek to steep coulees with lots of juniper and spruce for excellent, thick deer cover up into the drainages. Large grassy meadows surround the area. Part of the ranch burned several years ago and is now in the regenerative phase providing excellent habitat and deer browse. If you hunt this ranch you will see plenty of bucks and you will kill a nice mule deer.

All hunts are unguided with a high level of service from the ranch owners. Hunters on the ranch can expect to see 50-100 deer daily with a good buck to doe ratio. You will find the average mature bucks to be in the 20"-22" range with some bigger deer around, especially later in the season. Hunters are limited 4 per year to maintain buck numbers and trophy potential. Shots can be close in the thick cover, or at long ranges if you find your deer in the meadows. Flat shooting calibers that will kill deer out to 400 yards are recommended.

There is a beautiful log lodge where you will stay and all meals are included, served family style. During the evening you can relax in front of the huge stone fireplace or watch TV. All rooms have a private bath. You will need transportation and a 4X4 is recommended. If you fly to Montana these vehicles can be rented at the airport in either Billings or Bozeman. Licenses in Montana are by draw only and we will be glad to help with the application process. All hunters are encouraged to apply for preference points so if you do not draw this year you'll have a better opportunity in subsequent years. Please be aware of the March 15 application deadline for non-residents.

Average costs: Unguided deer hunts will have an average cost of $1250 per person for four days of hunting including lodging and meals.
