** We do not provide airport transfer and we strongly recommend that you get to the local area by the afternoon of the day before your hunt. When you arrive please be sure to call and let us know you are in the area. Hunters that fly can rent a vehicle. We are approximately four hours from Denver and a little under three hours from Colorado Springs. There are several restaurants and local motels in Sauguache and Hot Mineral Springs where you can stay the night before we pack-in, and then you will only have a short 20 minute drive to make the morning your hunt starts. Another option is to stay in Salida (45 minute drive) where you will find many motels and a good variety of restaurants, as well as a Super WalMart for supplies.

WILDERNESS GUIDED ARCHERY OR MUZZLELOADER ELK HUNTS: $3550 per person
We will have four separate guided archery hunts for elk and deer and offer a guided muzzleloader hunt. These hunts will be conducted from our high country pack-in tent camps. Camps are limited to four hunters maximum with a 2X1 hunter to guide ratio. All hunts will be a seven day trip with five full days of hunting. These are wonderful pack-in horse hunts in a high mountain basin. Hunting the mid to late part of the elk season will give us the best opportunity to work bulls as they should be in the rut and moving with groups of cows. We will hunt spot and stalk, as well as setting up early and late in the day on wallows. We will use bugles and cow calls to try to bring the elk in close. Archery bull elk licenses are available over the counter and deer licenses are by draw only. All muzzleloader licenses are by draw.

PRIVATE LAND GUIDED ELK HUNTS: $4095 to $7500 per person, Fully guided
We operate all our hunts from our base location in the north end of the San Luis Valley. We have elk hunting available on over 100,000 acres of private land for bull and cow elk. These hunts are on large private ranches where we access the properties by 4WD and hunt by spot and stalk. These ranches are in an agricultural area (see picture below) and herds of elk move around the valley in search of the best alfalfa and crops and we hunt according to game movement. Licenses are available via land-owner vouchers with liberal hunting seasons starting in early July and running into December. The early hunts will enable you to hunt elk still in velvet.

We take only two hunters per week and you will stay in the ranch house and we will drive out to hunt each morning. If the hunt is unsuccessful we will leave the elk during the day and return later in the afternoon when they again get up and move to feed. These hunts are fair-chase, but come with the highest possible success rates often approaching 90-100% shot opportunity and kill. Many elk will be "average" Colorado bulls, but we do take some real trophies with scores well over 300 inches. Our trophy hunt held the first week of September is for bulls in the 340-380 inch range.

All hunters have the option of adding a cow elk to their hunt for an additional $500 plus the license costs.
July 7 to August 30: $4095
August 30 to September 6: $7500 (trophy bull over 300" only)
October 3 to December 31: $5150
Cow elk hunt: $500 plus license when hunting bull elk, $2300 plus if not hunting a bull.

WILDERNESS GUIDED RIFLE ELK/DEER HUNTS: $4095 per person, fully guided
We operate two fully guided camps on the National Forest in Unit 681 for rifle hunts and you can hunt mule deer at no additional charge. Camp size is small with 2-4 hunters maximum and we have a 2X1 guide to hunter ratio. All trips are seven days in length and include five full days of hunting with pack days on either end. Our pack trip takes 3-4 hours so if we pack in during the season we will usually be in camp by noon giving you an additional 1/2 day of hunting, and of course we just might spot some animals on the ride up the hill. Generally for 4th rifle season we expect snow, so we hunt from the ranch so a pack trip is often not necessary.

LATE SEASON (DECEMBER) UNIT 681 COW ELK HUNTS: $2300 per person, fully guided
In past years these hunts have been very successful. Depending on weather conditions we can spot elk then stalk close enough for a clean shot, or we may ride horses up into the mountains. Licenses are by draw only. Please plan on arriving here on Sunday afternoon the day before your hunt begins.

ANTELOPE HUNTS: $2000 per person, fully guided, (5 days of hunting)
Archery antelope hunts take place during late August and September while the rifle season begins in early October. For archery hunts we will primarily hunt from blinds which we set along fence lines where the antelope naturally cross during the day as they move between the alfalfa fields. Rifle hunts involve more spot and stalk tactics. Preference points are necessary to draw licenses, but if you contact us early in the year we may be able to secure a guaranteed land owner sponsored license for you. All hunts are fully guided and include five days of hunting. After you secure your license we will set dates for your hunt.

SELF GUIDED HUNTS/Per Person: $3550 per camp 1-4 persons
Self guided hunts are $3550 for the camp and you can bring up to 4 hunters. You need only bring your personal gear and food. Please see the "Self Guided Hunts" page for complete information.
